Abstract

Objective:To explore the effect of modified uvolopalatopharyngoplasty(UPPP) operation for obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndromes(OSAHS)patients.Method:Fourty cases of type ⅡOSAHS diagnosed by PSG were treated with modified UPPP operation, and were examined some indexs during half to one year postoperation to evaluate the effect of the operation.Result:According to the Hangzhou meeting standard, the validity ratio of half a year, one year postoperation was 95% and 87.5% respectively. Conclusion: Modified UPPP operation is a good method for type Ⅱ OSAHS.It has a favorable effect ,preserving the normal structure of pharynx and has low rate of nasal reflux.
