Abstract

Strategic thinking is a kind of thinking about the overall situation. DENG Xiao ping's strategic thinking reflects the spirit of the age in the new period in which China carries out the policy of reform and opening to the world and engages in socialist construction for modernization. It is a summing up of the historical experiences drawn from the victories and setbacks of the Chinese socialist revolution and construction, the fresh experiences from the reform and opening to the world and the construction for modernization, and the historical experiences from the rise and fall of other socialist countries. It summarizes and learns from the fresh experiences in the development of the world economy and the latest achievements in the scientific and technological revolution. The study of DENG Xiao ping's strategic thinking is of both theoretical and practical significance both to the enrichment and development of DENG Xiao ping's theories, and to the understanding of China's developing strategy geared to the future.
