Integrated Chinese-Western therapy for functional dyspepsia

Abstract

Objective To study the effects of Chinese and Western medicine on functional dyspepsia.Methods Ninety-one patients with functional dyspepsia were randomly divided into two groups,in whom 56 patients in the control group were treated with cisapride,whereas 38 patients in the treatment group were treated with both cisapride and Xiang-sha-liujun-tang.Results In the treatment group,good results were achieved in 25 cases,fair in 8 and failure in 2,and the total effective rate reached to 94.29%.In the control group,good results were in 11 cases,fair in 33 and failure in 12,and the total effective rate was 78.57%.There was a significant difference between the two groups(P0.05).Conclusion Combination therapy of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine has an obvious therapeutic effect on functional dyspepsia.
