Study on Adult Somatotype of Mulam Nationality by Heath-Carter Method

The Heath-Carter somatotyping method was used to study the adult somatotypes among 465 Mulam adults(232 males;233 females) in Luocheng County in Guangxi province.The results are as follows:(1) The mean somatotype were Balanced Mesomorph category in males and Endomorph-Mesomorph category in females.The values of males and females were 2.4-4.5-2.8 and 4.1-4.0-2.2 respectively.(2)In males,the values of Endomorph increased slowly between 20-to 40-years old,but increased rapidly after 50 years old.That of Mesomorph and Ectomorph changed greatly between 20 and 30 years old,but didn't vary much after 30 years old.In females,the values of Endomorph and Mesomorph increased dramatically between 20-to 40-years old and Ectomorph decreased.After 40 years old the values of these factors didn't vary much.(3)Mulam adults showed very significance between sex.(4)Somatotype of Mulam was closely to Ningxia Huizu and Guangxi Sanjiang Dongzu in China.
