Abstract

Twelve species of digenetic trematodes belonging to 6 families and 8 genera have been obtained from fishes in Fujian Province, China. Among these,8 species are new to science and 4 species are recorded for the first time from China. All the type specimens are deposited in the Parasitological Research Laboratory, Fujian Teachers' University. The diagnoses of the new species are as follows:1. Echinoparyphium lingulatum, sp. nov. (fig. 1)Five spedmens were collected from the intestine of Pseudobagrus fulvidraco and Sini-perca chuatsi in Shunchang County. This species differs from E. agnatum Dietz, 1909 cheifly in the cephalic spines being 32 instead of 33 in number: 10 instead of 8 in corner and 22 instead of 25 in dorsal, the vitellaria extending from the level of ovary to the posterior end of body, and the ova much larger in size (122-136×70-86μ).2. Deretrema plagiorchis, sp. nov. (fig. 2)Five specimens were collected from the intestine of Monopterus albus in Pingnan County and Fuzhou City. This species differs from D. plotosi Yamaguti, 1940, cheifly in the smaller body, 1.24-1.88×0.48-0.72mm; the testes rounded, diagonal and intracecal; the ovary posteriolateral to acetabulum; the vitelline follicles numerous, distributed on both sides of acetabular zone; and the smaller eggs (21-25×17-18μ as against 39-46×24-27μ).3. Genarchopsis elongation, sp. nov. (fig. 3)Three specimens were found in the intestine of Zacco platypus from Chong'an County. This species differs from G. miilleri (Levinsec, 1881) chiefly in the larger body being 2.32 -3.68×0.72-0.84 mm in size; the larger oral sueker, with a sucker ratio of nearly 1:1.5; the acetabulum being situated in the anterior third of the body; and the testes obliquely disposed behind the acetabulum.1. Prudhoeus oligolecithosum, sp. nov. (fig. 4)Three specimens were collected from the intestine of Spams lotus in Pingtan County. This species differs from P. afrkanus Gayevskaya et Aljoshkina, 1983 cheifly in the smaller body, 1.24-1.88×0.48-0.72 mm in size; smaller acetabulum, with a sucker ratio of.1: 1.5; the vitelline follicles about 7-8 pairs in number, distributed posteriolateral to acetabulum; cirrus pouch well developed, overlapping the left side of acetabulum; and the smaller eggs (24-28 ×14-18μ).5. Allocreadium (Allocreadioides) gigas, sp. nov. (fig. 5)Five specimens were found in the intestine of Acrossocheilus parallens and Xenocypris argentea from Gutian and Jianyang Counties. This species differs from A. (Allocreadioides) hirnai Rai, 1962 cheifly in having larger acetabulum, 0.68-0.96×0.80-0.96mm, with a sucker ratio nearly 1:1.7; irregularly lobed testes, situated in the anterior part of hindboy; smaller cirrus pouch, 0.240-0.320×0.160-0.176mm, and larger eggs, 82-88×58-60μ.6. Allocreadium (Allocreadioides) multivitellatum, sp. nov. (fig. 7)Five specimens were found in the intestine of Opsariichthys bidens and Zacco platypus from Shaowu County. This species differs, from A. (Allocreadioides) transversale (Rudolp-hi, 1800) cheifly in the larger body, 4.00-4.72×1.20-1.28 mm in size; the vitelline follicles extending from both side of pharynx to posterior end of body; uterus intercecal, extending along ceca further backward reaching to the posterior extremity; and smaller ova (78-86×48-58μ).7. Plagioporus (Plagioporus) sinipercae, sp. nov. (fig. 8)Five specimens were found in the intestine of Siniperca chuatsi from Shunchang County. This species differs from P. (Plagioporus) calotomi (Yamaguti, 1934) chiefly in having larger body, 1.52-2.08×0.62-0.64mm in size; smaller oral sucker, 0.128-0.144 mm in diameter, with a sucker ratio nearly 1:2.4; smaller testes, 0.160-0.176×0.176 mm; and la-rger ova, 54-56×34-36μ.8. Coitocaecum robustum, sp. nov. (fig. 9)Five specimens were found in the intestine of Spams latus from Pingtan County. This species differs from C. gymnophallum Nicoll, 1915 cheifly in having the testes transversely elliptical, oblique, in the posterior half of the body; ovary transversely ovoid, 0.160-0.226 ×0.320-0.560mm; and the ova smaller
