Abstract

This paper studies the dynamic distribution of duck plague virus(DPV) and histopathology in thirty ducks infected with DPV and thirty ducks raised in the same flock(RSF ducks) by the Polymerase Chain Reaction(PCR) and pathological method. The results show that(1) the DPV-DNA are detected in the liver, spleen, fabricius, thymus, blood and faeces of rectum from the ducks after 6h post-infection;(2)After infecting the growed-up ducks in different means,DPV distributes within the bodies in different means;(3)The liver, lung.blood, thymus and faeces of rectum from the naturally infected ducks are the best materials to detect DPV at the forepart of infection;(4)After infected by DPV,epithelial cells of liver and kidney were detected intranuclear inclusion bodies,so do the reticular cells of spleen, fabricius and thymus;(5) Pathological changes are related with the time and sequence of pathogeny distributing. The histopathological changes of artifically infected ducks after 24 hours and RSF ducks after 72 hours are as follows: slight cellular swelling and degeneration in heart, liver, lung, kidney, cerebra, spleen, fabricius, thymus and duodenum. The slight pathological changes subsequently change to obvious swollen cells, necrosis, serious hyperemia and hemorrhage of the intestine;(6)The detection of virus and changes of histopathology in immunity apparatus(spleen, fabricius and thymus) are at the forepart of infection. The pathological changes are as follows: tissue swelling, hyperemia, hemorrhage and the decrease of lymphocyte, and then change into necrosis rapidly. The results mentioned above could offer gist to the mechanism of duck plague, the diagnosis of duck plague at the forepart and the prevention of duck plague.
