Abstract
Objective To investigate the changes in local Ang Ⅱand structure of left ventricle in spontaneously hypertension rat (SHR)and the effects of enalapril. Methods Forty SHR and 20 WKY were randomly divided into three groups SHR-d, SHR and WKY(n=20 for each group). Treatmented group(SHR-d) was fed with Enalapril 30 mg/(kg·d) in drinking water for 12 weeks, while the control groups were on conventional chow. Body weight and blood pressure were measured at the first and twelfth week. After 12 weeks, rats were sacrificed and their body weight, thickness of left ventricle, myocardium diameter, area of myocardium cell, and concentration of myocardium local Ang Ⅱwere measured. Results(1)The level of Ang Ⅱand the blood pressure in SHR was significantly higher than those of WKY and SHR-d (P0.05) with no significant difference between WKY and SHR-d. (2)The LV/BW, CVF, PVCA in SHR were significantly greater than those in WKY (P0.05). Enalapril significantly reduced LV/BW(3.14±0.31 vs SHR 4.09±0.21)mg/g, CVF(1.98%±1.57% vs SHR 5.11%±2.25% ), PVCA(0.68%±0.19% vs SHR 1.20%±0.19 %). (3) Compared with WKY, the long diameter, short diameter and area of myocardium cell of SHR were decreased significantly with no difference between SHR-dand SHR. Conclusion Enalapril treatment decreased Ang Ⅱ concentration in SHR's myocardium and myocardial hypertrophy.=
