Abstract
Objective: To explore the role and mechanism of suppression of ribonuclease RNase inhibitor in the growth of glioma cells. Method: Ribonuclease inhibitor was extracted from human placenta, and the suppression of ribonuclease inhibitor on the growth of human glioma cell line SHG44 and rat glioma cell line C6 was observed in vitro and in vivo. Results: (1 ) Different concentrations of ribonuclease inhibitor had no prominent effect on the survival rates of two glioma cell lines in vitro. There was no remarkable difference between experimental and control groups (P 0.05). (2) the average weight and size of tumor in nude mice in treated and control groups were that: C6 glioma cell line 1. 172±0. 184 g vs 2. 876 g±3. 94 g and 12. 84±1.15 mm vs 21.72 mm±1. 60 mm; SHG44 glioma cell line 1. 012±0. 174 g vs 2. 834± 0. 321 g and 11. 20 ±1. 21mm vs 22.17±1.62 mm. There were evidences differences between experimental and control groups (P 0.01). Conclusion: Ribonuclease inhibitor has no inhibitory effect on the growth of cultured glioma cells in vitro, whereas it has significant inhibitor effect on the growth of glioma in vivo.
