Abstract
The major work of the highway engineering surveying was to survey section,whose overwhelming majority part was to survey cross sections.Therefore,the efficiency to survey cross section at most determined the efficiency of the highway engineering surveying.A method was put forward to effectively survey cross section with total station and software system,which advances the speed of data collection of high way cross section in coteau and makes the operate digitization.
