Abstract
Taking into consideration the specific features of the current deflation in China, the Chinese government has adopted a monetary policy of continuing expansion of money supply. However, such a policy does not seem to have been effective enough and it appears difficult to contain price decline by increasing money supply. This paper analyzes the underlying causes for the current deflation in China and the relationship between supply of money and price fluctuation, and recommends some measures to alleviate price deflation.
