Evaluating the Effect of Ultrasonography and Intravenious Urography on the Diagnosis of Ureteral Calculus

Objective To evaluate the effect of Ultra-sonography and Intravenious Urography(KUB+IVU)on the diagnosis of ureteral calculus.Methods We retrospectively analyzed 106 patients with ureteral calculus,who accepted the examination of Ultra-sonography and Intravenious Urography before operation from March 2006 to October 2007 in our hospital.And compared the effect of Ultra-sonography and Intravenious Urography on diagnosis of ureteral calculus. Results Compared with Ultra-sonography,KUB+IVU got a better result in diagnosis of upper ureteral and middle ureteral calculus(P0.05),and the effects of both methods were similar in diagnosis of lower ureteral calculus(P0.05).On the other hand,KUB+IVU also got an excellent result better than that of Ultra-sonography in diagnosis of ureteral calculus the diameter of which ≤1.0 cm(P0.05),and to the calculus the diameter of which 1.0 cm,both of the 2 methods could get a similar and good result.Conclusion Both of the Ultra-sonography and Intravenious Urography can diagnose the ureteral calculus effectively,however,as a whole,the effect of Intravenious Urography is better than that of Ultra-sonography.
