Abstract
Objective:To studythe relationship between severe intrahepaticcholestasis of pregnancy(ICP)and fetal growth re- tardation(FGR).Methods:The data of 46 patients with severe ICP and the other 48 normal pregnant women as controls were retrospectively analysed. The weight of newborns, serum bilirubin, and liver function were comparatively studied to demonstrate the relationship between the weightnewborns and serum bitirubin orver function. Results:The occurrence of preterm birth, meconium in amnion, and neonatal Apgar score were lower in ICP group thancontrols. The mean weight of newborns was 3029.1±1042.5 g in ICP group and the prevalence of FGR was 6.3% was similart Ocontrols which. There was no relation- ship between the weight of newborns and serum bilirubin and liver function by multi-factor linear analysis. Conclusion:There is no adverse effect of ICP on the fetal growth.
