Abstract

Objective To explore the role of N-acetylcysteine(NAC) on the expression of nuclear factor-κB(NF-κB)of rats with hepatic ischemia-reperfusion(I/R) injury. Methods 30 male Wistar rats were divided into three groups in random and average.Group A for sham operation;group B for ischemia-reperfusion;group C injected with N-acetylcysteine before I/R.3 hours later the rats were killed and the serum was taken to detect the ALT,bilirubin,The expression of NF-κB in hepatic tissues was detected by immunohistochemical method. Results The expression of NF-κB and the level of ALT,bilirubin,PMN increased markedly during hepatic ischemia-reperfusion compared to sham group(Ps0.01);decreased significantly after administration of NAC compared to I/R group(P0.01).Conclusions In ischemia-reperfusion induced acute hepatic injury rat model, the expression of NF-κB increased obviously during hepatic ischemia-reperfusion.NAC could protect hepatic from ischemia-reperfusion injury on histological and biochemical level by inhibiting activation of NF-κB to alleviate inflammation.
