Abstract
Objective:To explore the treatment outcome of modified electroconvulsive therapy (MECT) and the improvement of executive function to patients with schizophrenia. Methods:60 patients with schizophrenia were ran-domly divided into control group (conventional antipsychotic drug treatment) and observation group (antipsychotic drugs treatment and MECT), PANSS and BRIEF-A functional rating scale were used to evaluate patients' clinical symptoms and executive function before and after treatment. Results:The PANSS scores of observation group are sig-nificantly lower than control group (t=-2.623,P<0.05)after treatment. And the score of general mental pathological factor of observation group are significantly lower than control group (t=-2.333,P<0.05)after treatment. The most project of executive function have improved significantly after treatment in two groups, and total index score of observation group is significantly better than control group (t=-6.632,P<0.05). Conclusion:MECT proves definite efficacy to schizophrenia, which can improves the clinical symptoms and executive function significantly.
