Abstract
Investigation on distribution characteristics of subterraneous stem of Phyllostachys nigra could provide a scientific basis for high-benefit cultivation of Ph.nigra used for shooting,timber and ornamentation.The results indicated that the bamboo rhizome was under top soil of 0-20 cm,and very significant difference on distribution ratio of number and length of rhizome between the soil layer of 0-10 cm and 10-20 cm was found.Distribution ratio of those in the soil layer of 0-10 cm was accounted for 90.30% and 92.23% of total rhizome joint and length,respectively.No significant difference on diameter appeared of different ages,and on length of 2-3 a rhizome,but the length of 2-3 a rhizome was obviously higher than that of 1 a rhizome.Significant difference on number of rhizome was found between 1 a and 3 a rhizome,while no significant difference of that was found between 2 a and 1 a,3 a rhizome.Number of buds,mean length of rhizome and joint for 1-3 a rhizome was nearly the same.No significant difference on mean number of buds of 1-2 a rhizome was found,and that of 1-2 a rhizome was obviously higher than that of 3 a rhizome.There was significant difference on distribution ratio of rhizome number and length of ages between soil layer of 0-10 cm and 10-20 cm,and 1 a rhizome was nearly 100% distributed in the soil layer of 0-10 cm.No significant difference on mean diameter and length of 2 a rhizome,mean length of joint and buds on 2 a rhizome was found among different soil layers.And length,number and buds of 2 a rhizome had significant difference or very significant difference among two soil layers.There was no significant difference on mean diameter,buds,length of 3 a rhizome,mean length joint and number of bud of 3 a rhizome between two soil layers,and significant difference on number rhizome and joints,length of 3 a rhizome was found between two soil layers.
