Abstract
The numerical simulation of the 3D turbulent flow is applied in the flowage at different discharge conditions in the campaniform inlet duct of Xianliqiao Pumping Station in Wuxi City. The calculation uses of Reynolds-average N-S(Navier and Stokes) equations, the standard k-e turbulent flow model, and SIMPLEC algorithm. It discloses the rules of velocity distribution and hydraulic loss at specific sections in the campaniform inlet duct. The result reveals that this inlet duct can keep steady flow pattern in the conditon of large change in flux, thus can suit to all kinds of operation conditions.Whereas, the outflow of the duct has phenomenon of bias current, which should be avoided through hydraulic optimization.
