A Single Flower Does Not Make a Spring——On the Development of Chinese Vocal Music

Chinese vocal music art has a long history with its unique integrated process of assimilation and integrity. Chinese vocal music art is not a part of Bel canto in Western music, nor equal to the traditional Han’s music pattern in China. The article has four parts: in the first part, the author discussed the heritage of Chinese tradition; in the second, its development base must be in China; thirdly, the coexistence of multicultural music art; the last is how to innovate the Chinese vocal music. The author stated the developing principle of Chinese vocal music. Only observe the four principles we can develop Chinese music art in the new century.
