Abstract
The termChinese national vocal musicshould not be confined to referring only a certain singing method,but rather,its connotation and extension jointly constitute the conceptual framework of modern Chinese vocal art. Proceeding from the concept ofChinese national vocal music,this paper argues that in the context of post-modern culture,probing into the origin,features,attribute,properties,and academic relations of the concept is an indispensable path to follow. Besides,correct understanding of the concept also plays a sound role in the development of the art itself.
