Contrast Test of Wind-Resistance of Eucalyptus Clones

Abstract

A contrast test was conducted on 4 clones of wind-resistance Eucalyptus such as 9224,Eucalyptus camaldulensis №2,M1 in the east of Fujian and U6 was taken as a comparison.The results showed that the difference of growth,wind damage percentage and preservation rate among the 4 clones was significant. The growth of 9224 and M1 was highest,the realistic stand preservation rate of 9224 and Eucalyptus camaldulensis №2 was highest,the wind-resistance of Eucalyptus camaldulensis №2 and 9224 was strongest, they all excelled the comparison on the whole.On the comprehensive analysis of adaptability,fast-growth and wind-resistance,9224 was elementary considered as a excellent clone with fast-growth and wind-resistance;although the growth of Eucalyptus camaldulensis № was lower than other clones,it also reached the standard of instant forest in Fujian Eucalypt suitable producing area that the soil type was grade Ⅲ,so it had prospect to plant at the coastal low-altitude section with frequent typhoon in Southeast Area of Fujian Province.
