Abstract
A superabsorbent polymer,cross-linking sodium polyacrylate was synthesized with a novel method initiated at low temperature and polymerized and desiccated at high temperature. The factors influenced the superabsorbent properties, such as initiation temperature, polymerization and desiccation temperature, the concentration of monomer, initiator and cross-linker,and the degree of neutralization were investigated. The experimental results showed that this superabsorbent not only had high water absorbency but excellent hydrogel strength.
