The difficult situation in college English reading teaching and its countermeasures

Abstract

The development of the competence of reading comprehension is the main content in college English reading teaching.However,in college English reading teaching many problems exist——the divorce between aim and approach,between intensive reading and extensive reading,between basic knowledge study and the development of competence.Some suggestions about these problems are there:to be clear about the purpose of English reading teaching,practically improve teaching approaches,strengthen the training of basic knowledge and basic skills
