Abstract

Objective To identify homogenous clones of S.flexneri 2a by using gene distribution polymorphism of Shigella enterotoxin1 and Shigella enterotoxin2 in an outbreak of S.flexneri 2a.Methods Eight strains of S.flexneri 2a were detected by polymerase chain reaction to identify genetic type and homogenous clones of S.flexneri 2a.Results The 8 strains of S.flexneri 2a were divided into 3 clones:ShET1(-)/ShET2(+) for 2 strains,ShET1(+)/ShET2(-)for 1 strain,ShET1(+)/ShET2 (+) for 5 strains.Conclusion Some patients included in the outbreak event by coincidence were not real outbreak cases,but multiple sources which was a coincidence in space and time.
