A Contrast on the Differences of Politeness Principle in English-Chinese Cultures

To express politeness by language is the most common way,and it's really a very important principle to achieve successful communication.Due to cultural differences,politeness principle may vary in Chinese and English culture.Since the five principles from Gu-Yue-guo(1994) is widely adopted on behalf of Chinese politeness principle,and the six principles from Leech(1983) on be half of English politeness principle,the contrast focuses on the theories of the two linguists.
