Discussion on the Thought of "Commend Buddhism and Condemn Taoism" from the Image of Taoist Priests in Pilgrimage to the West

Pilgrimage to the West has portrayed many images of Taoist.Through combing and describing three kinds of Taoist priests,this paper compared the similarities and differences of these images of Taoist priests to reveal the thought of commend Buddhism and condemn Taoism of Wu Cheng-en,which has certain significance in better understanding the novel's purport and instructing contemporary people to set up the correct religious view.
