Abstract

Ecological health refers to human's relation to the environments. It is a measure of environmental quality of human production and living and a system index indicating intact degree of the metabolic processes and service functions of life support systems, including the human body and the physical and mental health of the populations, residential ecological environments and the physical environments, biological and metabolic environmental health, and also the industry and regional ecological service functional health. This paper briefly reviewed the coastal ecological health evaluation methods. These methods can be used not only in the coastal ecological health assessment, but also can be used for other ecosystem health evaluation.
