Abstract

Objective To investigate the correlation between blood glucose profile within 24h and HbA_1c in patients with T2DM. Methods 578 patients with T2DM were divided into 4 groups according to HbA_1c levels. Blood glucose profiles within 24h were recorded by continuous glucose monitoring system. Results The correlation of HBA_1c with area under the curve(AUC) of hyperglycemia, duration of hyperglycemia, mean blood glucose and amplitude of blood glucose fluctuation was significant only in 7.5%HbA_1c10.0% group and HbA_1c≥10.0% group (r=0.206~0.477, all P0.05). The correlation of HbA_1c with AUC and duration of fasting hypoglycemia was significant in HbA_1c6.5% group only(r=-0.275,-0.363, respectively, all P0.05). Conclusions The correlation between HbA_1c and blood glucose profile is statistically significant when HbA_1c is in different range.
