Abstract

Objective To observe the effect and regulating mechanism of bFGF on nerve cell apoptosis during reperfusion after focal cerebral ischemia.Mehod The dynamic expression of bFGF and mRNA was examined during ischemic and reperfusion period by reverse- transcript PCR and immunohistochemical technology in sichemic core and penumbia. Method Using a focal cerebral ischemic model with reperfusion and immunogisto- chemistry method,RT- PCR techonology.Result The significant expression of bFGF and mRNA were observed in penumbia, while only slight increase in expression of bFGF and mRNA was observed in ischemic core. Conclusion Expression of bFGF is in accordance with nerve cell apoptosis during reperfusion after cerebral ischemia indicating bFGF played and important role in protecting and promoting recovery of nerve cells.
