Abstract

Communicative Teaching Method has been brought into China since the 1970s and has achieved effective results in foreign lan- guage teaching.With the development of cross-cultural communication between China and foreign countries,training students' communica- tive competence has become the main goal in foreign language teaching.So it is necessary to know the theoretical basis,principles and rela- tions of communicative competence in foreign language teaching field in the new situation.
