Abstract
Objective To study the clinicopathological and immunohistochemical characteristics, origin of tissue and differential diagnosis of clear cell tumor of lung.Method A case of clear cell tumor of lung was investigated by means of light microsopy,HE stain and immunohistochemistry. The related literature was reviewed. Results The tumor was composed of round or oval cells with distinct cell borders and abundant clear or eosinophilic cytoplasm. No obvious mitosis was found.Immunohistochemical stain showed positive for HMB-45 and CD_(34),negative for CK,EMA,S-100,Syn and CgA.Histochemical stain showed positive for PAS.Conclusions Clear cell tumor of lung is a kind of rare neoplasm, most of which is benign. The presence of necrosis is extremely rare and should lead to the consideration of malignancy. The usual treatment is operation. Its diagnosis mainly relies on histopathological and immunohistochemical fingdings.Being familiar with its morphologic features is helpful to distinguish it from other similar lesions, such as metastatic renal cell carcinoma, clear cell carcinoma of lung, etc.
