On Yin-Yang Theory of Dong Zhong-shu

The account of Yang Wu theory in Chunqiu Fanlu by Dong Zhong-shu is meant to be the most systematic and elaborate one since the Spring and Autumn and Warring State periods.It is for the first time that Yang Wu theory is exalted to the philosophy aspect by him in providing extensive justification to the relationship between Yin Yang Wu Xing and man and nature.For the difference of the basic orbit between Yin and Yang in their transfer to each other,they are in different status.Usually,Yin and Yang are incompatible.Yin assists Yang and Yang is the dominance of times,thus Yang is absolutely above Yin.Daoism takes Yin for power and Yang for rule,and it makes rule exposed and right concealed,thus right is always put behind rule.But Yin and Yang are under a condition of neutralization.Only in zhong,can Yin and Yang has their own beginning and windup.Zhong is the real home of all the creatures,and he is the real nature of the universe.
