Abstract
Objective To study the trend of the meteorological variables in Shenzhen from 2000 to 2005. Methods The data on air temperature, relative humidity, wind direction frequency and wind speed were collected and analyzed by the SAS statistical software package. Results As for the temperature during 2000 to 2005 in Shenzhen, the minimum air temperature was 3.4 ℃ and the maximum temperature was 37.9 ℃, the average intervals between the minimum and the maximum air temperature in every year had been increasing. The temperature curve was like a mountain peak, the average temperature in 2002 was the highest, but no significance was found(P0.05). The percents of high to 35 ℃ and of low to 10 ℃ of day average temperatures did not possess significance. There were significant differences among the temperatures in spring, summer and autumn. As for the relative humidity and rainfall amount from 2000 to 2005, those in 2000 were the maximum and the former was significant(P0.05). As for the wind direction frequency and wind speed, the main direction was always NE, but S and SE frequency was increasing. It is noteworthy that the average wind speeds in 2000 and 2001 were high but low in 2005 in WSW. Conclusion The meteorological condition in Shenzhen is relatively stable and its self-adjusting potency is powerful. In the recent years, however, the trend has been found that the percent of abnormal air temperature and the interval between the maximum and minimum temperature is increasing.
