Abstract
Objective To observe the therapeutic and nursing efficacy of endovascular embolization with detachable balloon for patients with traumatic carotid cavernous fistulas(TCCF).Methods 17 patients with TCCF were treated with endovascular occlusion by detachable balloon. The preoperative preparation,post-operative care and complications were observed and analyzed. Results The curative effect endovascular embolization with detachable balloon for patients with TCCF was close related to the position and size of fistulas, type of detachable balloon and nursing care. All 17 cases were cured,1 case was with balloon divulging but no recurrent of TCCF.The 6 months follow up showed that no adverse reaction occurred. Conclusion To strengthen psychological care, preoperative and postoperative care and observation of the complications is the key to the successful operation in patients with TCCF.
