Abstract
Small tailed Han sheep and healthy hybrid lambs from small tailed Han sheep(♀)× four introduced mutton sheep(♂) were fattened under the same feeding and management to select new hybrid combinations of commercial mutton sheep with high quality meat. The results showed that the mean daily gain of four hybrid combination lambs was 0.23kg,0.22kg,0.22kg and 0.21kg,24.72%,21.96%,19.22% and 18.67% higher than that of small tailed Han sheep respectively, the feed-meat ratio of four hybrid combination lambs increased by 18.25%,17.47%,7.57% and 7.0% compared with small tailed Han sheep separately, there was significant difference in weight increment and body measurement between four hybrid combination lambs and small tailed Han sheep, there was no significant difference in production performance between four hybrid combination lambs except body length, there was significant difference in feed-meat ratio between four hybrid combination lambs and small tailed Han sheep, and there was difference between four hybrid combination lambs. The optimum hybrid combination is small tailed Han sheep×Suffolk.
