Abstract

Treatment efficiency for wastewater biological treatment technology is one of the main criteria for judging whether it has wide application or not.Taking synthetic domestic wastewater as the experimental water, the present paper used sequencing batch biofilm reactor(SBBR) to systematically investigate the efficiency of removing nitrogen and phosphorus on the basis of continuous operation under wide ranges of temperatures, concentrations of organic matters, and nutrient concentrations. The results show that the sequencing batch biofilm reactor(SBBR) has some buffer ability to water quality changes during the treatment process, that the average removal rates for COD,NH_3-N,TN,TP,and SS were 87.95%,76.68%,47.87%,84.58%,and 89.22%,respectively.Even at low temperature SBBR had stable treatment efficiency. It was concluded that SBBR was an effective technology for simultaneously removing nitrogen and phosphorus during control of small-scale point polluting sources and further treatment of water.
