Abstract
The Chinese classic narratology originates from ancient Confucian theory about The Six Classics, especially The Spring and Autumn Annals and the three commentaries. It develops with the rising of textual analysis and synthesizes the annotations on novels in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is characterized by its instinctive and counteractive thinking mode, textual and sociologic criticism principle and desultory structure. The Chinese classic narratology has followed a long course of development and formed a new fashion that is communicating with and different from the western modern narratology.
