Abstract

Objective To study the effects of irradiation with different doses of 32P irradiation on apoptosis in rat prostatic cells cultured in vitro. Methods The apoptosis percentages of rat prostatic cells cultured in vitro were detected with flow cytometry(FCM) and AO detection afterβirradiation with different doses. Results The observation showed that in high dose irradiation group the nucleus of prostatic cells was abnormal, some shrank, some smashed, but in low dose irradiation group and in control group these changes were very little. The percentage of apoptosis cells in low dose irradiation group and in control group was little, but in high dose irradiation group it was much(P0.01).Conclusion High dose irradiation can apparently stimulate apoptosis in rat prostatic cells, while low dose irradiation can cause little apoptosis.
