Abstract
[Objective]To investigate the relationship between Bone mineral density(BMD) and serum levels of bone metabolism index in senile osteoporosis.[Methods]BMD of L2-4 of the 55 patients was detected by DEXA.According to the value of Tscore, the 55 patients were divided into two groups:osteopenia group and osteoporosis group. The activity of BALP and TRAP-5b were detected by ELISA and compared.[Results]The activity of BALP and TRAP-5b in osteoporosis group was significantly higher than that in osteopenia group(P﹤0.01) .The activity of BALP and TRAP-5b was also significantly increased among male patients.[Conclusion]Both BALP and TRAP-5b can be used as early monitoring indices for osteoporosis.
