Abstract
The objective of this study was to optimize extraction technology of total flavonoids from cassia with ethanol extraction method.Based on single-factor test, the orthogonal test was carried out.The results showed that the optimal extraction conditions of total flavonoids were ethanol concentration 60%,extraction temperature 60℃,the ratio of solid to liquid 1:25,and extraction time 1.5h.Under these conditions, the extraction yield of total flavonoids form cassia was 79.82mg/g.DPPH radical scavenging experiment showed that cassia flavonoids possessed certain antioxidant property.Antioxidant property enhanced with flavonoids concentration increased.DPPH radical scavenging rate was more than 90% when flavonoids concentration was up to 0.4mg/mL.The IC50 result showed that the antioxidant property of the cassia flavonoids was lower than VC and BHT.
