Discussion of Offering GIS Courses in Civil Engineering Students

Abstract

This paper introduces the wide application of GIS in civil engineering,demonstrates the necessity of setting up GIS courses in civil engineering teaching,discusses the ways of training GIS personnel in Civil Engineering of School of Lanzhou University of Technology,and proposes the initial assumption on offering GIS course to civil engineering students.
