Abstract

[Objective]To evaluate the application effect of the three detection methods, including RPR,ELISA and PCR,in the screening of blood donors, and seek for the optimal way of detecting syphilis for massive screening of blood donors.[Methods]With the methods of RPR and ELISA,32 327 samples from blood donors were detected, and then the positive samples were tested by Fluorescent PCR and TPPA.[Results]In 32 327 samples,108 and 174 of them were positive with the method of RPR and ELISA respectively,201 positive ones tested with the method of RPR and/or ELISA were all negative by fluorescent PCR.In 108 positive ones tested by RPR and 174 positive ones by ELISA,81 and 144 were positve by TPPA respectively.[Conclusion]ELISA is the optimal method of the three detection methods in detecting syphilis for massive screening of blood donors, taking the factors of methodology and manipulation into account.
