Clinical study of acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine syndrome differentiation and treatment of women with chronic functional constipation

Objective To observe the clinical therapeutic effect of acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine syndrome differentiation and treatment of women with chronic constipation. Methods 289 female patients with chronic functional constipation were randomly divided into 2 groups. The treatment group of 193 cases received acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine syndrome differentiation according to the different syndromes,96 cases in the control group were given western medicine therapy. The course was 2 weeks in two groups. After a course the efficacy and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared in two groups. Results The total effective rate of treatment group was 92. 6% and 65. 3% in control group,there was significant difference( P 0. 05); adverse reaction rate of control group was 22. 2%,the side effects of the treatment group was 9. 2%,the difference was statistically significant( P 0. 05). Conclusion According to differentiation of symptoms and signs,combined acupuncture and medicine for treating women with chronic constipation has obvious curative effect,is worth the clinical promotion.
