Abstract

Carrying forward the May 4th Movement spirit against feudalism,Wen Yiduo's essays criticized the dross of China's traditional culture on the basis of dissecting confucian thought,which marked the maturity of his rational criticism.His essays, most of which were written in the later stage of the War of Resistance Aaginst Japan and before the breaking out of the war of liberation,were the product of his life as well as brilliant poems for democracy and freedom,and therefore they had practical fighting significance.Becauce Wen Yiduo was essentially a poet,his essays were characterized by the integration of political critique and poetry,reflecting a concentration of his true,good and beautiful personality.Their significance of aesthetic education was obvious.
