Abstract
Objectives: To investigate the impact of pelvic reconstruction surgery on the pelvic floor function and sexual function in the treatment of elderly patients with severe pelvic organ prolapse. Methods: The clinical data of 75 elderly patients with severe pelvic organ prolapse in our hospital from March 2011 to August 2013 were retrospectively analyzed. Results: The operative time, indwelling catheter time, hospital stay, postoperative discharge time of the observation group were significantly shorter, and the postoperative bleeding was significantly less( P 0. 05); The PFDI- 20,PFIQ- 7 scores were significantly lower, while the PISQ- 31 score was significantly higher than those of the control group( P 0. 05); The postoperative complication rate of 16%( 8 /50) was significantly lower than the control group of 24%( 6 /25)( P 0. 05). Conclusion: The pelvic reconstruction surgery can improve elderly patients' pelvic floor function and sexual function in the treatment of severe pelvic organ prolapse.
