Thoughts on the Rational Combination of Forest Management and Social Forestry

Forest management is,through the inventory,division and management scheme draw-up,to adjust the forest to attain the Common realization of economic and ecological benefits,so as to utilize the forest reserves sustainably.Forest management P1ayed an important role in the last fifty years in forestry development of China.Social forestry has been introduced to China for more than 10 years.The major idea of social forestry is depending mainly on local people.people out of the community facilitate the local people to investigate,analyze and draw up plan.people out of the Community participate in the implementing, monitoring and evaluation of the projects.To combine the advantages of the two methods,the idea of combining forest management and social forestry organically was proposed.Specific operating methods on encouraging the local people’s participation in forest management were proposed.
