On the Spirit of a Kind of Hermit-Wang Wei

Wang Wei one of the poet who passed the Imperial Examination in the 720s and 730s,and was one of first generation of poets of flourishing period of the Tang Dynasty.He was also a core-member in the circle of poets in the capital during this period,and became the most famous.Later in his life,his attitude to life changed from positive to negative,from group to ego.With the form of returning,he accomplished settling down and salvation of his heart.In general,researches in this field take the landscape perspective and the feelings of Confucianism and Buddhism.This paper goes beyond the limitation,and focuses on the mentality and the value orientation that Wang took in his experience ofbody-in-court while soul-in-countryside.By doing so,this paper try to make an inquire into the spirit of court hermitage of the feudal literati Wang Wei.
