Abstract
The optimal conditions of the determination of the contents of polyphenols in pomegranate peel extracts by Folin-Ciocalteu colorimetry were investigated, and the stability, precision, repeatability and recovery of the method were tested. The optimal conditions of the determination of polyphenols in pomegranate peel extracts were obtained as follows:Folin-Ciocalteu reagent of 1.00mL,10.0g/100mL Na2CO3 of 3.00mL,the reaction temperature of 25℃,reaction time of 120min and detection wavelength of 672nm.There was a good linear relation ship between the concentration of gallic acid and absorbance in the range of 10—100μg/mL(y=0.0098x+0.0148,R2=0.9982).The method is simple, rapid and accurate, that is the reliable method for detection of total polyphenols in pomegranate peel extracts.
