Abstract
Using wind tunnel tests, influences of vegetation coverage on soil wind erosion were systematically studied. The results indicated that threshold wind velocity of soil erosion is nonlinearly and positively related to vegetation coverage, as well as the relations between threshold vegetation coverage and wind velocity. It is concluded that aerodynamic roughness length and shear velocity are well correlated to vegetation coverage. The enhancements of the aerodynamic roughness length and the shear velocity influenced soil wind erosion remarkably.
