Dyeing performances of natural dyes on modified cotton fabrics

Abstract

Cationic modification agent was used for cotton modification in order to improve dyeing performance of natural dyes on cotton fabrics.The modification mechanism was studied and the changes of cotton fiber structure were analyzed by using TGA and FTIR technics.The results show that by optimizing modification process and dyeing process,the soaping color fastness can reach 4 grades and the crocking fastness is about grade 3.The cotton fabrics dyed with natural dyes showes good UV-protective effect.
