Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical effect of autograft limbal stem cell transplantation or amniotic membrane transplantation for pterygium. Methods 43 cases of pterygium were divided randomly into two groups:amniotic membrane transplantation proup(23 cases of 23 eyes),autograft limbal stem cell transplantation group(20 cases of 20 eyes). After surgery,we observed the recovering of cornea, the growing of amniotic membrane and limbal stem cell flap, and the invading of neovascular. Results 3 months after surgery,2 cases recurred in amniotic membrane transplantation group. Conclusion Autograft limbal stem cell transplantation or amniotic membrane transplantation can reduce recurring rate of pterygium. These two surgeries provide effective methods for pterygium.
