Abstract
A new method of dual-wavelength dual-indicator catalytic kinetic spectrophotometry for the determination of trace manganese(Ⅱ)in H2SO4medium was established. The method was based on the manganese(Ⅱ)catalyzing oxidation of brilliant green and acid chrome blue K by KIO4in the presence of nitrilotriacetic acid as an activator. The absorbance of catalytic and uncatalytic systems were measured at 430nm and 630nm,respectively.Under the optimum conditions, the linear range for the determination of trace manganese(Ⅱ)was 0.00200~0.0300μg/mL.The detection limit was 1.2×10-11 g/mL.The method has been applied to the determination of trace manganese(Ⅱ)in tea and waste water with satisfactory results.
